Back in the 1990s when I first stepped into retail jewelry, this ring was the kind of piece that everyone wanted - tanzanite’s popularity was at an all time high and finding good sized stones with good color and saturation was an expensive endeavor. The few pieces we did see in store were all met with a lot of wonder and awe by both the sales staff and our clients. So having this piece to offer to you is truly a dream come true for me personally.
These days, tanzanite remains popular and nearly 30 years of mining have passed since I first had access to those beautiful pieces. Tanzanite is only found in one area of the world - in Tanzania. You could probably have guessed that! But it is not found throughout the country - only in a 4km stretch of land near Mount Kilimanjaro. Sooner or later, this source will be depleted and here in 2023 we are closer to depletion than we were in the 90s. So while we have access to these stones and these stunning pieces, the time to buy is certainly now.
Stunning estate tanzanite and diamond ring in platinum. Set with a central oval cut tanzanite in a heavy setting with diamond accents throughout. Absolutely beautiful! Tanzanite is 4.31ct with a medium blue purple hue, good saturation, has likely been heated as is typical of tanzanite. Diamonds are approx .57ctw, F-G, VS clarity. One of the baguettes has a small chip which is not noticeable to the naked eye. Otherwise in excellent condition.
