Very fine seal ring in solid 14k yellow gold. Heavy and well made, this piece is a classic design and can be used with wax as a seal also. The image of a piper with an Aulos is carved into a slab of lapis. The Aulos is linked to Marsyas in Greek mythology who was skilled with the double flute but made the mistake of being way too cocky for his own good. He challenged a god to a musical duel and he paid with his life. Perhaps this piece is a gentle reminder to always be humble and kind in this life. In very good condition. Setting is heavy and beautifully carved. Truly a one of a kind piece.

Please understand that almost everything we sell is either preloved, vintage or antique - it is highly unlikely that it will be in new condition. Gemstone weights will be approximate and estimated to the best of our ability while mounted. Everything we sell is sold as is. Gold may be scuffed, stones may show wear and be slightly loose at times, patina will often be left in tact as is preferable to many collectors of older jewelry. We will endeavor to list any defects that are significant but understand we may miss something that you consider important.
